EXPERIENCE DETAILS
A unique journey through some of the most fascinating areas of Africa, in support of Doctors with Africa CUAMM’s international cooperation projects. Nine days and 1,500 km on- and off-road, visiting a wild, kind and compassionate land. We’ll skirt Lake Victoria and cross the Murchison Falls and Lake Mburo National Parks, to admire the savanna’s natural wildlife.
Alongside the healthcare professionals from Doctors with Africa CUAMM, we’ll visit the Aber Hospital and visit some of the villages benefiting from the projects supported by Dainese Expedition Master Uganda fundraising.
A part of the participation fee will in fact be donated to the Doctors with Africa CUAMM project. The Italian non-governmental organization has been working for 75 years to support healthcare for local people in some of the most critical areas of Central Africa.
There are 9 days in the schedule, with 1,500 km on- and off-road in a wild land. A charity trip through some of the most fascinating areas of Africa. The visit to Kampala is a fantastic experience, your first contact with the country’s culture, cuisine and the warmth of its hospitality. Visit to the CUAMM coordination center, which has been operating in Uganda for over 60 years. The next day, after the briefing with the guides, a long stage is scheduled that allows you to become familiar with the bikes. It ends with a thrilling rhino walking safari at the Rhino Sanctuary.
In Aber, a brief visit to the hospital where Doctors with Africa CUAMM operate and a dinner with doctors and volunteers allow you to learn about the commitment of the Organization founded in 1950 to bring aid to the most remote and fragile areas of South Saharan Africa, where the right to health is denied. It’s an evocative, touching experience with an activity that doesn’t make the news, but means the difference between life and death for many people every day.
On the second day, we leave with the CUAMM staff to observe the activities they carry out in those areas. In the afternoon we come to Murchison Falls National Park to experience a wonderful motorbike and 4x4 tour in the most beautiful part of the park. On the third day, the journey continues on the “red trails” immersed in the boundless African landscapes to reach Hoima, a city with rural charm.
The next day, immersed in an increasingly green and lush landscape, we come to the Kibale Forest park, where you can take a short trek into the rainforest. The next stage leads to Mburo National Park, with the amazing volcanic Lake Mburo.
The eight stage is special – crossing the equator, with an evocative boundary marker where photos are of course de rigueur. The day ends at Lake Nabugabo, to stay in the lodge overlooking the shores of the lake. The last leg is the return to Kampala skirting the immense Lake Victoria.

The In Moto con L’Africa project was born at the beginning of 2020 with the aim of raising awareness among riders and raising funds for transporting healthcare professionals in the areas where CUAMM operates, where motorbike ambulances are often the only vehicle that can actually reach the most isolated villages in time to help. Motorbike ambulances are essential for delivering medicines and vaccines and transporting new mothers to health facilities, reducing the infant mortality rate by 40%.
You can contribute to the project supported by Dainese Expedition Master Uganda, even without participating, by making a donation to Doctors with Africa CUAMM. For more information visit In moto con l'Africa | Rete del Dono
Dainese, which has been inventing and innovating in motorcycle rider protection for over 50 years, has chosen to support CUAMM’s On the Motorcycle with Africa project with the Dainese Expedition Master Uganda trip, donating €1.000 for each participant joining the journey.
